September and October were the Fashion months. We cover New York, Paris, London, Milan and now the premiere fashion event in Los Angeles. FWLA (Fashion Week Los Angeles) was incorporated Runway Shows & Market Week into an entertaining, educational and efficient event structure for Apparel Buyers and Press. In FWLA, a premium runway provides the perfect canvas to showcase Spring Summer 2016 designer collections. One of the designers who had his show in FWLA was Oday Shakar. Oday spins together a precise blend of confident allure in the graceful silhouettes, Old Hollywood glamour in the glittering hand embellished details, and unflinching sophistication in the modernity of the designs. Since 2008, Shakar has been renowned for his eye for stunning lines and talent for reimagining classical silhouettes into his timeless gowns that have been worn by A-Listers such as Sandra Bullock and Sofia Vergara.
Oday is interested in further weaving the label into the real lives of women— to promote confidence, self-expression, charity, and celebration. “Origin” is a rebirth as well as a return to form.
Other designer in FWLA that we couldn’t take our eyes from his designs was Octavio Carlin. Recognizing his glamorous red carpet designs, Octavio Carlin was selected as a finalist in the 2011 Oscars Designer Challenge. Octavio’s woman wearable glamour from the moment she is out the door for the day to the evening where she is still looking fabulous.
Joshua Christensen, from season 9 of Project Runway was the other designer who had the fashion show in FWLA. Joshua’s Spring Summer collection, entitled “Sneak Attack” is inspired by his mother. This collection shows the beauty and life of colours against the complex graphic prints in black and white.
